With a background in electronics design, Paul has over 25 years of experience in computing, specialising as a communications consultant in email systems, Internet and remote communications.
Experience covers all versions of Microsoft Windows; many common email systems; most versions of Microsoft Office; Google Apps; Lotus Notes; broadband and wireless networks; and common accounting applications.
Not-for-profit clients have included Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth, National Consumer Council and Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), as well as numerous smaller ones.
More than 15 years of this period has been spent in the UK not-for-profit sector, sometimes as a part-time IT manager for a small NGO and sometimes giving general computer networking support and web design consultancy to charities on a freelance basis.
Paul writes a regular IT bulletin that is distributed to hundreds of clients in the charity sector.
Outside the office he continues to master the art of uni-cycling !
